The rule sits inside the statutory ceiling, so the rule numbers are used; the ACVCC website also says the maximum award is $15,000 (as of July 09, 2020). A July 14, 2025 notice of intended action (posted on acvcc.alabama.gov under Administrative Rule Updates) proposed raising lost wages to $500/week for up to 26 weeks ($13,000 max) and funeral to $6,000 for crimes on or after July 11, 2025; the official admin code site still showed the Nov 13, 2023 version when retrieved on 2026-10-03, so the proposal is not used. Recheck before relying on the lost-wage cap. Outstanding (unpaid) medical bills sent to providers may be paid at 30% of eligible charges up to $6,000 (r. 262-X-4-.04(3)); not modeled as a survivor-facing cap. The exam program pays providers flat fees ($400 exam without medication, $550 with medication, $300 off-base, $50 lab) per r. 262-X-11-.01(9); those are provider fee schedules, not survivor caps. The statute (15-23-121) allows providers to bill health insurance for the exam and the rule requires collateral sources first, so insurance_billing is 'allowed'.
