What it does not pay for
The brochure says property loss or repair is not covered, nor are attorney fees or pain and suffering. The current rules still pay to repair a victim's eyeglasses, prosthetic or dental device (as medical) and damaged exterior doors, locks or windows at a residence (as crime scene cleanup).

A hospital or provider may not send the patient a balance bill for a county-paid forensic exam. The statute does not say whether the patient's insurance may be billed.
A health care institution or health care provider may not issue, either directly or through its billing company, any additional balance bill to a patient relating to a medical or forensic interview or examination for which the county is required to pay pursuant to section 13-1414.

Keeping your name and address private
The Secretary of State's Address Confidentiality Program gives survivors of sexual offenses, domestic violence, and stalking a substitute address and free mail forwarding so the person they fear cannot find them through public records. Eligible applicants include victims of a sexual offense such as rape or sexual assault. Enrollment is only through an in-person meeting with a registered Application Assistant at a victim services agency.
